About the foundation
The Foundation was created on the 29th of March 2015 (originally Auraráð). The Foundation was established by a collective of individuals with a shared vision of the positive impact that cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology can have on the Icelandic economy.

Working groups
The developer group hosts regular meetups on blockchain implementations, cryptography and other related topics
The mining group works on educating people on how to set up their mining equipment. Meets up every two months.

The Bitcoin community in Iceland. Hosts a monthly meetup on the second Monday of every month.
The Auroracoin group leverages IBF resources and liasons with the Auroracoin offical team to promote awareness, adoption and develop real-world solutions.
The education group gives talks and produces content to spread awareness of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
